Leather for Vegetarians
As a vegetarian, I used to avoid wearing leather like a terrycloth
sweatsuit. I loved the look though- so I turned to vegan leather...until
looking into the harsh and non-biodegradable chemicals used to make a
lot of it. Even though real leather is biodegradable, I could never
justify buying new. To solve the ethical problems of fashionable
leather, I have been collecting vintage leather and suede garments and
scraps that would otherwise be put into land fill. It has been super
great experimenting with leather, and now we can all feel good about
wearing it! Pouches available here. I have also been making custom belts like the one below for customers, if you want one too, choose your colors and size and it's yours!!

Milkshake
Milkshake is a fantastic Eco-focused blog about "all that's good". Last month, they featured Where in their shopping article series "Good Finds That Give Back"! Check out the beautifully written, well spoken article here. They truly captured my mission!

Last Canoe of the Season
Long has paled that sunny sky: |
Echoes fade |
and memories die: |
Autumn frosts have slain July |
Still she haunts me, phantomwise, |
Alice moving under skies |
Never seen by waking eyes. |
Ever drifting |
down the stream — |
Lingering |
in the golden gleam — |
Life, what is it but a dream? |

Crosswalk 2012
On July 14th, Angioplasty Media, MSR Presents, and my clothing line Where put on the first annual Crosswalk: A Fashion Show Styled by Sound. It was a huge success! We raised over $500 for COTS while having a great time checking out some of Vermont's finest fashion talent on the runway. Special thanks to Barbacoa and Parmaga for providing the live soundtrack, DJ Disco Phantom for getting the crowd going with his rockin' beats, and Amy Cronin for being a fantastic MC! Thanks to our sponsors: Seventh Generation, Lagunitas Brewing Co., Fluid Bar Service, and Liggy Lighting Design...we
couldn't have done it with out you guys! And of course, thanks to all
of the designers, models, and stylists who participated, you were all
fantastic! Looking forward to next year!

Garden Party Season!
Well, the warm weather came early this year, or I guess never really left...I've been reconstructing a bunch of lovely floral vintage dresses, changing their shape and getting them ready for picnics, tea parties, and other outdoor occasions that call for breezy floral!
