I am gearing up for STRUT, the South End Arts and Business Association Fashion Show as part of the annual Art Hop.  This weekend celebration is bigger to some of us than traditional holidays, with months preparation and anticipation.  Here is a preview of the collection I have been working on for STRUT 6, on September 10th, 2011.

Fall Reconstruction Preview

 

I love these 1950s style dresses, but I love them even more when I hem them and give them a whole new "contemporary" shape.  The fabric and patterns from that era are amazing!  This dress will be for sale at Revolution in White River Junction, VT.

Joining the World of Blogs

My goal with this blog is to showcase my designs and inspirations.  This was the design that drove me to start selling the clothing I make.  It is entirely hand-sewn, and made with vintage materials collected from around the world including beads, yarn, and shells.  It now belongs to my friend Maureen.
